Step 1We sort the permits for youScheduled daily collection, organized by trade and scope. Skip the spreadsheets.Details
- Scheduled official-source checks. Collection is designed to run daily. A run can be delayed, paused or fail, so check the source date on each record to see what has actually refreshed.
- Source-backed sorting. Permits are classified by trade, project type, building type and published scope so the list reads as projects, not rows.
- Narrow it down. Filter by keyword, job type, scope, ward or neighbourhood, permit stage and reported City permit estimate.
Building type: Restaurant. Trade: Plumbing. Reported City permit estimate: CAD $100K or more. Area: one selected ward.
An example only, with no promised results. The estimate is the City's reported figure, not a budget or contract value.
Ingestion depth: how big is the permit stream?
Toronto publishes thousands of permits every year. The City's 2025 Toronto Building Program Summary, “How Well We Are Doing” reports 37,804 building permits issued in calendar year 2023 (January 1–December 31), under its “# building permits issued” measure, 2023 Actual. Annual issuance is not a count of unique projects, active permits or qualified PermitClue leads.
Step 2Find your kind of job in secondsNarrow thousands of permits to the work you sell, fast.Details
- Go straight to relevant work. Start with your job type and refine the list in a few clicks instead of scanning permit spreadsheets. Finding jobs in seconds is the browsing goal, not a guarantee about data refresh, AI or network speed.
- Start from your trade. Roofing, HVAC, plumbing and electrical views narrow to the scope that applies, then you refine by building type, stage or area.
- Stay specific. A match does not guarantee available work, so open the record before you plan a follow-up.
Step 3Save, add notes & stay updatedKeep a private shortlist, plan your follow-up and see changes in the app.Details
- Save selected jobs to a private shortlist on your account.
- Private notes are free form. A date in a note is just text and does not schedule a reminder.
- Track dated changes. Updates to saved records appear as in-app notifications for signed-in members with eligible access. Alerts are in-app only, with no email or push delivery.
- Reports. Select projects to draft a report, review and confirm it, then download a PDF. Reports need sign-in and eligible membership (trial, Standard or existing entitled access).
Step 4Check the source. Research smarter.Open official records. Request cited AI research when you need it.Details
- Source lookup. Open a project to read the published details and follow the link back to the official record before deciding it deserves research.
- Perform Research is on request. Choose Project, Company or Person research yourself. Nothing runs automatically, and PermitClue never starts research for you.
- Read it critically. Results are unverified and may be partial. Review the citations and uncertainty. Person research targets professional roles only, and contact discovery is not guaranteed.
- Access and time. Availability depends on your eligible account and provider controls. Research can take longer than a keyword search.
Less admin, more sales opportunityLess time scanning permit pages. More time qualifying prospects and planning your next call.Details
Trades & contractors
- Filter by trade, building type, stage and published scope.
- Review recorded movement, then inspect the official record before qualifying a project.
- Decide whether to research the project or a professional candidate.
Roofing · HVAC · Plumbing · Electrical
Suppliers & distributors
- Match projects that name the systems and product families you carry.
- Research likely roles once the evidence supports it.
- Prioritize by stage, without inventing buying windows.
Plumbing, HVAC and electrical distributors · Building-material makers
Time saved is less manual permit sorting and a focused prospect list. PermitClue does not guarantee revenue, contracts, verified buyers or open work, and it does not list employment vacancies.
A clearer plan for every teammatePrivate saved jobs and notes, with reviewed reports you can hand over.Details
- Individual workspaces. Added logins under shared billing each keep private saved jobs, notes and reports. It is not a shared CRM.
- Own your pipeline. A salesperson or estimator ranks their own shortlist and notes what to do next.
- Share deliberately. Reports can be explicitly reviewed and exported when you choose to hand one over.
